A noise source you play from a keyboard. Hold a note and it sounds; let go and it stops. On its own it is wind and static; layered under an oscillator it becomes the breath in a flute or the click at the start of a pluck.

Noise takes MIDI notes, not audio. Connect a keyboard or a MIDI clip, hold a note and choose a type. Try pink noise with Tone turned a little dark for a soft wind, or white noise with Tone bright for a sharp hiss to layer under a synth.
In a modular rack, Noise has an 8 HP panel with MIDI input and audio output. Send the same notes to Noise and an envelope or synth to add a breath or percussive layer, then shape it with a filter. Its MIDI input gates the sound; it is not a continuously running CV source.
A noise generator fills a buffer with the requested spectrum - flat for white, a one-pole cascade for pink, an integrator for brown - and loops it into the voice mix at Level, gated by the same amplitude envelope as the oscillators.
Tone is a one-knob tilt implemented as a shelving pair rather than a filter sweep, so extreme settings change colour without ever removing the noise entirely.
Describe what you want to make. Build it with the Studio agent.

A complete synth built from separate modules.
Two oscillators with independent pitch, level, and stereo position.
