Community guidelines
Code of Conduct
Help make Maru a welcoming place to share music, build tools and learn from each other. These guidelines apply to profiles, modules, discussions, comments, remixes and contributions.
Treat people with respect
Welcome people with different backgrounds, identities, abilities and levels of experience. Disagree with ideas without attacking the person. Harassment, discrimination, threats, sexual harassment and targeted abuse have no place here.
Make feedback useful
Keep discussions relevant to the module or topic. Describe what you tried, what happened and what you expected. Critique the work with specific, constructive suggestions. Give creators room to make their own decisions; a suggestion does not create an obligation to implement it.
Avoid spam, repeated unwanted promotion, impersonation and deliberately misleading claims about your work or someone else’s.
Respect privacy
Do not publish someone else’s private information, credentials or private conversations without permission. Remove secrets and personal details from code, screenshots and logs before sharing them.
Respect creators and their work
Follow the license and attribution requirements attached to code, audio, artwork and other materials. Be clear about what you created, what you remixed and where your contribution came from. A remix does not imply the original creator endorses your version.
Contribute safely and clearly
Explain proposed changes and their purpose. Do not hide malicious behavior, include stolen material or publish modules intended to harm listeners, equipment, accounts or data. Share enough context for others to review your contribution.
Report a problem
Use the Report action on a discussion or comment, or email hello@maruaudio.com. Include a link to the content and a short explanation. Report sensitive details privately rather than escalating a dispute in public.
If you believe a moderation decision was a mistake, contact the same address with the relevant link and your explanation. Reporting, content removal and account restrictions follow our reporting and takedown terms.
These community guidelines sit alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. The Terms contain the broader acceptable-use rules for the service.
