Install and safety

Untested. No compatibility reports yet. Maru has not tested it on hardware.

Maru offers its own install only for open-source releases with a complete install record, after its installer has completed a full install and restore on a physical M-VAVE FM-1.

  • Put the unit on stock V15 first, and keep your own copy of the stock file from M-VAVE’s downloads so you can go back.
  • Back up your presets with the current firmware’s own export before installing.
  • Rescue: Hold OCT− and OCT+ while switching on to boot stock firmware until the next power-on. (The author's documentation).
  • If something goes wrong, follow the recovery ladder.
  • US$29 one-time on the author's site, including 1.x updates (checked 2026-10-12).
  • Built on top of stock V15; its install page can also put V15 back.
