The smallest complete Maru effect: a low-pass filter followed by a level control, with two faders. It is a reference module for developers. Read it to see how an effect is put together from Maru's built-in building blocks, or start a new effect project from it.
What it does
Audio passes through a gentle low-pass filter and then a gain stage.
- Tone sets the filter cutoff, from 80 Hz to 12 kHz (2400 Hz by default). Lower settings darken the sound.
- Level sets the output level, shown as a percentage.
The diagram on the face shows the filter-then-gain signal path; it is a picture of the design, not a live measurement. There are no factory presets.
Building on it
The whole sound is described in src/index.ts as a small graph of existing nodes, so there is no custom DSP code to read. Graph-based effect projects created with maru init start from this module, which makes it the natural place to learn the pattern before adding your own stages.
The face also shows an optional host feature: where the host offers sound generation, it can request a drum loop for your library. The generated loop is saved to the library; it does not pass through the effect.
