A noise source you play from a keyboard. Hold a note and it sounds; let go and it stops. On its own it is wind and static; layered under an oscillator it becomes the breath in a flute or the click at the start of a pluck.
Controls
- Type picks the colour of the noise. White is flat and hissy, pink is softer and more natural, and brown is darker still, close to a rumble.
- Tone tilts the colour from dark to bright without changing the type. The centre leaves it as it is.
- Level sets the output. It starts low on purpose, at 10%, because a little noise goes a long way.
Getting started
Noise takes MIDI notes, not audio. Connect a keyboard or a MIDI clip, hold a note and choose a type. Try pink noise with Tone turned a little dark for a soft wind, or white noise with Tone bright for a sharp hiss to layer under a synth.
